What SPYx is

SPYx is an xStock — a tokenised security tracking an S&P 500 index fund. It lets you hold index exposure on-chain and trade it outside normal market hours, settling in seconds like any other Solana token.

Tokenised equities are one of the faster-growing categories on Solana, with several issuers now listing stocks, ETFs and commodities.

You need SOL or USDC first

SPYx is bought by swapping something you already hold for it, so an empty wallet cannot buy any. If yours is empty, start here.

How to get your first SOL

Buying SPYx, step by step

  1. 1

    Connect a Solana wallet

Open the swap panel and connect Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. Privacc only reads your public address. It cannot move your funds.

  2. 2

    Select SPYx

The panel is already set to buy SPYx using the verified mint address, so there is nothing to paste and no risk of picking an impostor token.

  3. 3

Enter an amount and review the quote

Type how much SOL you want to spend. The quote shows the SPYx you will receive, the price impact and the fee before you commit.

  4. 4

    Sign in your wallet

Approve the transaction. Solana settles in about a second and the SP500 xStock arrives in the wallet you signed from.

What SPYx is used for

  • SPYx gives index exposure to someone whose money is already on-chain and who does not want to move it into a brokerage to get it.

  • It trades at any hour, including weekends, which is genuinely different from the fund it tracks. That is the clearest advantage and the source of its strangest behaviour.

  • It settles in seconds like any Solana token, so it can be swapped in and out without the wait a brokerage transfer involves.

How SPYx trades

SPYx is thin compared with anything in traditional markets and thin even by Solana standards. That matters most at the times the token is most attractive: when the underlying market is shut, there is no arbitrage against the real index, so the price is whatever the on-chain book says it is. Weekend quotes can sit some way from where the index closed, and the gap is not an opportunity so much as a warning about depth.

Common mistakes

  1. Holding SPYx is not owning the index or the fund. It is a token issued against a security, so the issuer and the custodian sit between you and the thing you are tracking, and neither appears in the price.

  2. The price can drift from the index, and most reliably when traditional markets are closed. A weekend price is not a preview of Monday; it is a thin market with nothing to anchor it.

  3. A tokenised share carries none of a shareholder's rights. There is no vote, and dividend treatment is the issuer's arrangement rather than a property of the token.

  4. Regulatory treatment of tokenised equities is unsettled and differs by country. That is a real variable, not a footnote, and it is one the price does not price.

Checking SPYx…

Risks to understand

You are holding a token issued against a security, not the security itself. That adds issuer and custody risk on top of ordinary market risk, and the token can trade away from the underlying index — particularly when traditional markets are closed. Availability is restricted in some jurisdictions.

Nothing on this page is financial advice. Read how to spot a rug pull before buying anything smaller than this. This token is a special case: how tokenized stocks work explains what you are actually holding.

SPYx — Contract address

Symbols on Solana are not unique: anyone can mint a token using the SPYx ticker. Verify the mint address, never the name:

The swap panel on this page is already pointed at this mint.

SPYx questions

Do I own actual S&P 500 shares?

No. You hold a token an issuer created against a security they hold. Your exposure to the index depends on that issuer continuing to hold the backing and honour redemptions — a dependency that owning a fund through a broker does not have.

Why can the price differ from the real index?

Because arbitrage only works while the underlying market is open. Out of hours nothing connects the two, so the on-chain price moves on its own thin order book. That is also when the difference is widest.

Can I trade it at the weekend?

Yes, and that is the main attraction. It is also when liquidity is thinnest and the price is least anchored to anything, so the feature and the risk are the same feature.

Where can I buy SPYx?

On this page. Connect a Solana wallet, enter an amount, and approve the swap. The SPYx goes straight to your wallet without passing through Privacc.

Do I need an account to buy SPYx?

No. Privacc has no accounts and no sign-up because it never takes custody of your funds. You connect a wallet, sign a transaction, and the tokens go straight to you.

What does it cost to buy SPYx?

The Solana network fee, the price impact of the route, and the Privacc fee included in the quote you see before signing.
