What PEPE is

PEPE is a memecoin launched on Ethereum in April 2023, themed on the Pepe the Frog internet meme. It has no product and no roadmap, and its own website has said that it has no intrinsic value and no expectation of financial return.

It reached a market value in the billions within weeks of launch and has stayed one of the most traded memecoins since. Its supply is fixed at roughly 420 trillion tokens, which is why the price carries so many zeros after the decimal point.

Its price is attention and little else: social media, exchange listings and the mood of the memecoin market. Its deepest market is a Uniswap pool against WETH on Ethereum.

Connect an EVM wallet
