Sanctum InfinityINF price and how to buy
SolanaA pool of many liquid staking tokens held as one token.
What INF is
INF is different from the other staking tokens here. Rather than representing one stake pool, it represents a share of Sanctum's Infinity pool, which holds a basket of liquid staking tokens from many different providers.
The point is liquidity. Small staking tokens are hard to trade in size, so Sanctum pools them and lets people swap between them against the shared reserve. INF holders earn the staking rewards of everything in the basket, plus fees from that swapping.
That makes it a bet on liquid staking as a category rather than on one operator, which cuts single-pool risk and adds a layer of contract risk in exchange.
You need SOL or USDC first
INF is bought by swapping something you already hold for it, so an empty wallet cannot buy any. If yours is empty, start here.
How to get your first SOLWhat INF is used for
INF is a way to hold liquid staking without choosing an operator. It represents a share of a basket rather than one pool, so the staking return is an average of what everything inside it earns.
It earns fees on top of staking rewards, because the pool acts as the shared reserve other staking tokens swap against. That extra income is the argument for holding it over a single pool's token.
It suits someone who wants staking exposure and does not have a view on which validator operator will do best. In exchange for not choosing, you accept whatever Sanctum puts in the basket.
How INF trades
INF's whole purpose is to be the liquidity other staking tokens route through, so swapping between it and SOL is generally clean. It is still much smaller than JitoSOL, and a large exit shows it. The more useful thing to watch is not the price impact of one trade but what is inside the basket, because the token's value moves with holdings you did not pick.
Common mistakes
Treating INF as diversification overstates what it does. Spreading across stake pools removes the risk of one operator failing and adds the risk of Sanctum's own contracts, which every share in the basket now depends on.
The basket's composition is decided by Sanctum and changes over time. Buying INF today is not buying the mix that was in it when someone last wrote about it.
Holdings are concentrated, so a single large holder leaving moves the price more than the underlying staking returns ever would.
It is a staking token and pays nothing out. The return appears as a rising exchange rate against SOL, which is easy to miss if you are watching a balance that never changes.
