XRP is the native asset of the XRP Ledger, a payments-focused blockchain launched in 2012 and closely associated with the company Ripple. This page is about Binance-Peg XRP: a token on BNB Chain that tracks XRP's price, issued by Binance and backed by XRP it holds in reserve.

Common mistakes

  1. Binance-Peg XRP cannot be sent to an XRP Ledger address. The two networks share nothing, and moving between them needs an exchange or a bridge.

  2. Exchange withdrawals of XRP default to the XRP Ledger. To receive this token in a BNB Chain wallet, the withdrawal has to be sent on BNB Smart Chain, if the exchange offers it at all.

  3. The BNB Chain pools for XRP are far smaller than XRP's main markets, so a large order here moves the price more than the same order would elsewhere.
