What ASTER is

ASTER is the token of Aster, a decentralised exchange best known for perpetual futures: leveraged contracts that track an asset's price and never expire. Aster came out of the merger of two earlier projects, Astherus and APX Finance, and BNB Chain is its main home.

The token is used in the platform's governance and reward programmes. Its price has tracked how much trading Aster attracts, which has depended heavily on its incentive campaigns and on competition with other perpetual-futures exchanges.

It is a young token with a short trading history, and its deepest pool on BNB Chain only just clears the liquidity bar this site sets for a page. Expect larger price moves, and more price impact on a large order, than on the established names here.

Buying ASTER, step by step

  1. 1

    Connect an EVM wallet

Open the swap panel and connect MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet or any browser wallet that supports BNB Chain. On a phone, the same wallets open through their own apps. Privacc only reads your public address — it cannot move your funds.

  2. 2

Hold some BNB on BNB Chain for gas

Every BNB Chain transaction is paid for in BNB, whatever token you are swapping, so a wallet with no BNB cannot buy ASTER. The panel opens on BNB Chain; if your wallet is set to another network it will ask to switch.

  3. 3

    Check the token is ASTER

The panel is already set to ASTER at the contract address on this page, so there is nothing to search for. If you pick it by hand, compare the address rather than the name — copies with the same symbol exist.

  4. 4

    Approve, then swap

If you pay with a token rather than BNB, your wallet first asks you to approve the router to spend it. That is a separate transaction with its own gas fee, needed once per token. Then check the quote — the ASTER you receive, the price impact and the fees — and sign the swap.

  5. 5

    Find it in your wallet

The Aster arrives in the wallet you signed from once the transaction confirms. If your wallet does not list it, add it as a custom token using the contract address on this page.

ASTER contract address on BNB Chain

Token names and symbols on BNB Chain are not unique — anyone can deploy a contract called ASTER. The address is the only thing that identifies the real one. Check it, never the name:

Common mistakes

  1. Buying ASTER is not trading on Aster. The token gives exposure to the platform's fortunes; it is not an account on the exchange and involves no leverage.

  2. Newly launched tokens attract copies with the same name. The address on this page is the one both LI.FI and GeckoTerminal list as Aster on BNB Chain.

  3. Trading volume built on reward campaigns can fall away quickly when the campaigns end, and the token's price has been sensitive to that.

ASTER questions

What is Aster?

A decentralised exchange focused on perpetual futures, formed from the merger of Astherus and APX Finance. Traders keep custody of their funds in their own wallets rather than with a company.

Is buying ASTER the same as trading perpetuals?

No. It is a spot purchase of the platform's token. Perpetual futures are traded on Aster itself, with leverage and liquidation risks that this swap does not involve.

Why is ASTER on the BNB Chain page?

Because BNB Chain is where its deepest on-chain market is, against WBNB, and where the contract on this page lives.

Where can I buy ASTER on BNB Chain?

On this page. Connect an EVM wallet with some BNB for gas, enter an amount and sign. The ASTER goes straight to your wallet without passing through Privacc.

Do I need an account to buy ASTER?

No. Privacc has no accounts and no sign-up because it never takes custody of your funds. You connect a wallet, sign a transaction, and the tokens go straight to you.

What does it cost to buy ASTER on BNB Chain?

The BNB Chain network fee, paid in BNB; a one-off approval fee the first time you sell a given token; the price impact of the route; and any service fee. All of it is in the quote you see before you sign.
