What BRETT is

BRETT is a memecoin on Base named after Brett, a character from Matt Furie's Boy's Club comic — the same comic that gave the internet Pepe the Frog. It launched in early 2024 and became the most prominent memecoin on Base that year.

It has no product behind it. Its price has tracked attention to Base as much as anything, rising when Base was the network of the moment and falling back when interest moved on.

Its pools today are much smaller than at its peak, and the deepest of them trades little relative to its size, so a large order moves the price noticeably.
