A token that has just doubled can halve as quickly, and the sharpest moves are often in young pools where rug pulls happen. How to spot a rug pull

What are today's top gainers on Polygon?

The Polygon tokens whose price rose most over the last 24 hours. We start from the most traded tokens that pass our filters, not from every token on the network, because the biggest percentage moves on any chain belong to pools with a few hundred dollars in them: one $50 buy can double the price of a token nobody else is trading.

Polygon PoS is one of the longest-running EVM networks, with low fees and a long tail of DeFi, gaming and payments tokens. Its DEX trading is thinner than on the larger networks, so on a quiet day only a handful of pools clear the liquidity floor.

How this list is ranked and filtered

The starting point is the same as our Polygon volume ranking, GeckoTerminal's pools sorted by 24-hour volume. Raw pool rankings on EVM networks are dominated by wash trading: bots cycling the same money through a thin pool to manufacture volume. So a pool must hold at least $1 million of liquidity and trade no more than 25 times that in 24 hours. Stablecoin pairs are dropped, and a token that appears in several pools is shown once, at its highest-ranked pool. Price and changes are that pool's own, so they can differ slightly from an exchange's quote. What is left is re-sorted by 24-hour price change, and tokens that fell are dropped.

How to use it safely

A gain that has already happened is not a reason to buy. Tokens at the top of this list are often at the top of a move, and the ones that doubled in a day can halve as quickly. Look at the 1h and 6h columns too: a token still rising in the last hour is a different situation from one that peaked this morning.

Before you swap anything from this list, check the contract address against the project's own site, compare the liquidity column with the size of your trade (a trade worth more than a few per cent of it will move the price against you), and never swap more than you can afford to lose.

Frequently asked questions

How are the Polygon gainers chosen?

From the most traded tokens on Polygon that pass our filters (at least $1 million of liquidity, volume no more than 25 times liquidity, no stablecoins), sorted by 24-hour price change. Tokens that fell are left out.

Why are the gains smaller than on other gainers lists?

Because we leave out thin pools. A 900% gain in a pool holding $3,000 is one buyer, not a market, and nobody could sell into it. Our gainers are smaller and real.

How often does this list update?

The table in the page's HTML is a snapshot taken when the site was last built, and it is labelled with that time. When you open the page your browser asks GeckoTerminal for the current list once and the table switches to live.

Should I buy today's top gainer?

No. This list describes what is being traded, not what will go up. We do not make price predictions or recommend tokens, and a place on this page is not an endorsement. Check the contract address, compare the liquidity with the size of your trade, and never swap more than you can afford to lose.
